Word 2000 Missing Menu Fix

If your Menu Bar is missing (the one that shows File, Edit, View, etc.) from Microsoft Word 2000, then your Data folder in your Windows Registry is probably corrupt and you will have to follow these directions to replace it with a new one:

1. Exit from all instances of Microsoft Word 2000
2. Start Notepad. (Found under Accessories).
3. Copy the following text to Notepad
   

   Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 
   
   
   ; Filename: Word2000MenuToolbarsMissing-Fix.reg 
   ; Description: Fixes the problem of missing menu bar in Microsoft Word 2000 (v9.0)
   
   
   [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Data] 
   "Toolbars"=hex:48,00,00,00,0d,01,00,00,00,00,00,00 
   

4. Save the file to drive C:\ with the following filename: Word2000MenuToolbarsMissing-Fix.reg
5. Exit from Notepad
6. Open My Computer or start Windows Explorer
7. Navigate to drive C: and double-click on Word2000MenuToolbarsMissing-Fix.reg
8. Say "Yes" to add the information to your registry
